Carmella’s time in WWE has officially come to an end—at least for now.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion’s contract has expired, and she is “technically no longer with WWE.”
This news comes as Carmella continues to battle drop foot, a condition that has severely impacted her mobility since giving birth to her son, Dimitri Paul Polinsky, with husband Corey Graves. On top of that, she has also been dealing with two herniated discs in her back, making a return to the ring even more challenging.
Carmella last competed in WWE in March 2023, but her in-ring time was cut short after only six weeks back. She had previously been sidelined since 2022. Fans have been hoping for her comeback, but her latest health struggles have put everything on hold.
Despite being out of action, Carmella has remained active on social media, recently posting a photo outside an MRI room with the caption, “Back at it… trying to get some answers for this foot.” While her WWE deal has expired, there’s no official word on whether a return is completely off the table. Sapp noted that “she’d be welcomed back” whenever she’s ready.
Carmella’s journey has been anything but easy, but if there’s one thing fans know about the Princess of Staten Island, it’s that she doesn’t go down without a fight. Whether this is the end of her WWE chapter or just a pause in her story remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure—she’s got the wrestling world watching.
Will she make a triumphant return, or is this the start of a new path outside the ring? Let us know what you think in the comments!
