Ricky Starks wasted no time becoming a part of the NXT family after debuting on the February 11th episode, following his AEW departure. Saints has already made a statement with his appearance on NXT and he now made it clear he aims to prove WWE wrong for not signing him back in 2017.

While speaking on Busted Open, Ricky Saints stated that he has a clear vision for his time in NXT. He wants to prove why WWE should have signed him back in 2017. While he acknowledges that not being signed then might have been partly his own doing, he has put that behind him and is using it as motivation to succeed now.

“I’m not big on goals because they change literally every hour. But I will tell you this: The plan for me is to come in here, show exactly what everybody had been missing for the past 14 years. You should have signed me in 2017. That’s what you should’ve did… WWE should’ve signed me in 2017.

In the short term, Saints aims to show everyone what they have been missing for the past 14 years. He believes WWE made a mistake by not signing him earlier, but he also recognizes that timing played a role. He admits he has grown since 2017 and sees his current opportunity as the right moment to make an impact. His focus is on proving why he calls himself “Absolute” and demonstrating why he deserves to get attention.

Saints plans to lead by example, main event NXT’s biggest shows, win the NXT Championship, and become the standout performer everyone talks about. He wants to shake up NXT and back up everything he has promised to accomplish.

“Timing is why they didn’t sign me in 2017. Timing. Simply timing. It could’ve been on me for sure. But I can admit to the fact that the person that I was in 2017 is not the person that I am now and I’m actually glad that it happened this way. But in my weird Michael Jordan brain, that’s a big thing that I made up, you know? The plan though is to come in here and show why I call myself ‘Absolute,’ why I am who I think I am and not only that, but then help out other people. You have to lead by example.

So, that’s going to be main eventing these PLEs, that’s going to be winning the NXT Championship, that’s going to be the guy, me, Ricky Saints, who people go, wow, he really did come in here and turn this whole place upside down. He really did come in here and do all the things he said he was gonna do. Those are the current plans, and then, whatever happens, happens. Then I move on and then I take over WWE fully and what I mean by that is I’m gonna take over the Netflix, I’m gonna take over international markets. I’m going to collect on everything that I thought I should have a long time ago.”

Even though his time in AEW did not end well, he still believes in himself and his skills. Next week, he will team up with Je’Von Evans to face Ethan Page and Wes Lee in a tag team match. Fans will be watching to see how he does in his first match as Saints is determined to become a huge star in NXT.
