WWE has officially kicked off EVOLVE, taping the first batch of episodes on February 7, but the company is going to great lengths to keep the show under wraps.
The tapings took place in a much smaller section of the WWE Performance Center, creating a different feel from NXT. Instead of the usual arena-style setup, the audience was limited to two rows of dimly lit fans on each side, with the second row slightly raised. WWE also controlled the crowd by inviting 90% friends and family to prevent leaks, banning all photos as an extra precaution.
The roster features a mix of NIL recruits, NXT Level Up talent, Performance Center trainees, and select NXT wrestlers. Some of the wrestlers will be permanent fixtures on the brand, making EVOLVE a true proving ground for rising talent. Between two and three episodes were taped during the first session.
The next round of tapings is scheduled for February 21 at the Performance Center, where EVOLVE will introduce its EVOLVE Championship, setting up the first major title storyline for the brand.
WWE EVOLVE will debut on Tubi in the United States on March 8, airing every Wednesday at 8 PM ET.
Whether WWE EVOLVE turns into the next big thing or just another developmental experiment remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure—WWE is going all in on keeping things under wraps. With a fresh roster, a stripped-down setup, and a brand-new championship on the way, the stakes are high for the company’s latest project. Will EVOLVE create the next breakout WWE Superstar, or will it fade into the background like past attempts? Only time will tell.
