WWE RAW aired its February 17 episode from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. With Elimination Chamber approaching, several storylines needed to be addressed. Sami Zayn was a focal point during the night.
Sami Zayn was set to appear on RAW this week. That being said, he has a lot going on in WWE right now. Zayn kicked off the show this week by coming out for a promo, as the North Carolina crowd gave him a great reception.
After soaking in the crowd’s chants, Sami Zayn said that he’s been thinking about his history with Kevin Owens. Obviously, they’ve been through a lot and there have been a lot of betrayals, forgiving and forgetting along the way. That is when Zayn said there is no forgiving or forgetting this time, because Kevin tried to end Sami’s career with a package piledriver. The problem for Owens is that he didn’t get the job done, and Zayn is ready to get revenge.
Sami Zayn said he will be in Toronto for Elimination Chamber too, and he wants to fight him. At that point, WWE RAW General Manager Adam Pearce came out to speak with Zayn a bit. He explained that the match can’t happen, no matter how much he would like to make it official.
Zayn then asked Pearce how long he’s known him and Kevin Owens. He wasn’t taking no for an answer, and he said he’s not leaving the ring until he gets the match. Adam Pearce then said he can’t sanction the match, which means Owens can do whatever kind of violence he pleases at Elimination Chamber.
Sami Zayn made it clear that he was willing to accept the risks as the fans chanted “Let Them Fight.” Zayn made it clear that he can’t be stopped from doing any sort of violence on Owens, either. At that point, an unsanctioned match was booked for Elimination Chamber.
