Roxanne Perez has a huge opportunity at Vengeance Day, but the bigger story might be what happens after. The 23-year-old could be wrapping up her time in NXT, with speculation running wild about a potential main roster call-up.

Perez, Bayley, and Cora Jade will challenge Giulia in a four-way match for the NXT Women’s Championship. If she wins, she’ll make history as the first-ever three-time NXT Women’s Champion. But even with that possibility, her future beyond NXT is what’s grabbing attention.

When she signed with WWE in March 2022, Perez wasn’t sure if the company would believe in her. “When I first signed my contract, I wasn’t sure if [management] would see it in me right away, and Shawn Michaels did,” she told Sports Illustrated. “Then it was a matter of will the main roster see me in the same light that Shawn Michaels did?”

As for Vengeance Day possibly being her final match in NXT, she’s feeling all the emotions. “It’s definitely a mix of emotions,” she admitted. “It makes me a little sad that it maybe could be over, but of course I’ll be back.”

Perez proved she could hang on the main roster at the Royal Rumble. Last year, she was eliminated in just eight minutes. This time, she lasted over an hour, breaking the record before Charlotte Flair tossed her as the final elimination. That moment gave her all the confidence she needed.

“Being the last two with Charlotte Flair, I think it really solidified The Prodigy on the main roster,” she said. “And I have more motivation than ever. I am so excited to make my mark up there, and I can’t wait to see what happens.”

Perez also had a chance to share the ring with Bayley on the January 28 episode of NXT, teaming with Cora Jade in a loss against Bayley and Giulia. But for Perez, it was more than just a match.

“Bayley is one of the greatest people I’ve ever met,” she said. “She’s so giving, she cares about the future, and it’s really cool that I’m getting to work with her now, but I gotta prove to her that The Prodigy is a little better.”

Perez could be walking into her biggest moment yet at Vengeance Day. Whether she wins the title or not, her days in NXT could be numbered as the WWE main roster awaits.
