The Hurt Syndicate are running AEW’s tag team division, but according to MVP, this might be their final chapter. With MVP leading Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin to championship gold, the dominant faction has been unstoppable since reuniting in AEW.

Appearing on Huge Pop! with Donnie DaSilva and Jimmy Korderas, MVP was asked if this run would be the group’s last. While he didn’t give a definitive answer, he made it clear that retirement is something the group is thinking about.

“I can’t speak for them, even though I normally speak for them, from our conversations, we often acknowledge that this is our last ride,” MVP admitted. “Let’s be real, Bobby at 48 and Shelton at 49 are in better shape than most people in the industry today. They are still credible and can still go.”

That said, MVP didn’t rule out the possibility of extending their careers if the right opportunity comes along.

“When this contract is done in a couple of years, two or three years, whatever it is, they’re still going to be in better shape than most people in the business. Who knows if at that point things are still going well, if someone says, ‘Hey, how about one more year? Two more years?'”

Lashley, in particular, has been vocal about his long-term plans beyond wrestling.

“I know Bobby has definitely talked about retiring and moving on to his business ventures and other things. For the most part, this is the last ride, but as we say in our business, card subject to change.”

The Hurt Syndicate continued their dominance on this week’s AEW Dynamite, successfully defending their AEW Tag Team Titles against The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn).

Will The Hurt Syndicate go out on top, or will AEW find a way to keep them around even longer? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
