Michelle McCool is heading to the WWE Hall of Fame, and her former tag team partner Layla couldn’t be happier.
On Friday, WWE confirmed that McCool will be inducted during WrestleMania 41 week in Las Vegas, joining Paul “Triple H” Levesque as the first two names in this year’s Hall of Fame class. The news was revealed on ESPN’s Get Up, where Triple H surprised McCool with the announcement.
Layla, who shared championship gold and countless unforgettable moments with McCool as part of LayCool, took to social media to celebrate her friend’s massive achievement.
“What wonderful news today! No one is more deserving of this recognition and accomplishment,” Layla wrote. “I’m truly so happy for you, Chelle! Everyone, please show your love to Michelle—she’s incredible and so dear to me. #WellDeserved #Proud”
McCool responded with a heartfelt message: “Love you so much!!!!”
While McCool’s Hall of Fame induction is already making headlines, Layla dropped an interesting note back in December, saying she’s now open to a WWE return and would love to reunite LayCool for an appearance or even a short run.
