Sexyy Red had the chance to step inside the WWE ring as a full-time wrestler, but it turns out she had to turn the offer down.

After making several high-profile WWE NXT appearances in 2024, including hosting NXT Battleground, the St. Louis rapper was reportedly given the opportunity to train and compete as an in-ring talent.

According to Dazed Digital, WWE offered Red a “permanent role as a wrestler”, but due to her busy schedule, she had to decline. “She actually got offered a permanent role as a wrestler in WWE, but couldn’t find the time to train properly so settled for a cameo instead,” the report revealed.

Despite not making the jump to full-time competition, Red has nothing but love for WWE. She even compared rapping and wrestling, saying both require performers to take on larger-than-life personas while still keeping it real.

“Rapping and wrestling are pretty much the same, it’s not quite acting, but it’s kind of acting too, right?” she said. “Because when we go home and take off all our jewels and gold and remove the costumes we wear, we then have to go right back to reality with our families.”

Whether she steps back into the WWE spotlight remains to be seen, but her energy and personality fit right in with the world of sports entertainment.

Sexyy Red might have passed on a full-time WWE career, but that doesn’t mean the door is closed forever. With her larger-than-life personality and wild energy, she fits right in with the chaos of pro wrestling. Whether she eventually steps back into the ring or keeps it strictly music, one thing’s for sure—she knows how to put on a show.
