Chad Gable established himself as one of the most dependable stars on the WWE roster, and that’s why it comes as no surprise he might just end up competing in AAA soon enough.
After losing matches to Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and most recently Penta in WWE, Chad Gable announced on Raw that he would be taking a leave of absence to “conquer the dark arts of Lucha Libre.”
While it’s unclear how he plans to do this, a new report from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live suggests that Gable might be working some dates for AAA. Alvarez noted that while he hasn’t confirmed the news, he has heard that Gable is expected to wrestle for the Mexican promotion.
“I also have been told – I don’t know if this is true or not, I sure hope it is – that Chad Gable is actually going to be working some dates for AAA.”
If true, this would add to WWE’s growing trend of crossovers in 2025. Earlier this year, Omos and Shinsuke Nakamura competed in Pro Wrestling NOAH, and WWE also announced a multi-year partnership with TNA Wrestling.
It remains to be seen if WWE and AAA will officially move forward with this plan, but more updates will be shared as details emerge, but there’s no doubt it will be a huge move if Chad Gable does end up competing in AAA this year.
