George Kittle isn’t just a dominant force on the football field—he’s also a die-hard wrestling fan, and his love for Lucha Libre is no secret. Every time he picks up a first down, the San Francisco 49ers tight end throws up the signature “Cero Miedo” taunt in tribute to WWE’s Penta El Zero Miedo. But this isn’t just some random shoutout—Kittle and Penta have built a real friendship over the years.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Penta opened up about how he and Kittle first met and how their bond has grown since.

“He is my best friend now. I love him. He loves me, I think,” Penta joked. “I met him in New Orleans years ago at WrestleCon. I had like five matches, and he came to my locker room after the match. ‘Hey Penta, I’m a player in the NFL.’ I’ve never seen NFL. I had never seen NFL. He gave me a jersey, I traded with the mask. After that, he became my friend. He texts me. When the NFL went to Mexico, he brought me with him. I hope he can be with me in WWE.”

The connection between the two was on full display in 2022 when Kittle rocked a custom 49ers Lucha mask, gifted by Penta, during San Francisco’s game against the Arizona Cardinals in Mexico City. And Kittle’s love for wrestling doesn’t stop there—he even got physical at WrestleMania 39, jumping in the ring and leveling The Miz with a clothesline.
