John Cena is busy with his WWE retirement tour in 2025, but his Hollywood career is still thriving in a big way as well. Unfortunately, it appears that Warner Bros. Discovery has now canceled Wipeout, a show Cena was involved in for a long time.

According to Deadline, The Wipeout revival has officially been canceled, as quietly confirmed by Jason Sarlanis, President of TNT, TBS, TruTV, ID & HLN at Warner Bros. Discovery. During a keynote speech, Sarlanis explained that the series was too expensive to align with the network’s new programming strategy.

Sarlanis acknowledged that Wipeout was a fun and comedic show but emphasized the need for a more realistic approach to programming, stating that recalibration was necessary.

“Those are very much in the realm of what we do. Wipeout is inherently comedic and a joy to watch. But I think what we’re what we’re looking at is being realistic in terms of the entire environment. We have to recalibrate.”

The Wipeout revival premiered in April 2021, with John Cena and Nicole Byer as hosts. The show was known for its massive obstacle courses, featuring water, mud, slime, and the iconic big red balls. Contestants competed for a chance to win $25,000, making it one of the most entertaining challenge-based game shows on television.

Even though Wipeout was canceled, John Cena remains extremely busy. While his WWE retirement tour is a top priority, he is also working on multiple Hollywood projects, but fans will still miss Wipeout no matter what.
