Cody Rhodes put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line in a grueling ladder match against Kevin Owens at the 2025 Royal Rumble, and it left him feeling the effects. Owens pushed Rhodes to the limit on February 1, and while The American Nightmare walked away with the title, he didn’t walk away unscathed.
Rhodes was so banged up after the match that he wasn’t even able to attend the post-show press conference. WWE’s Jackie Redmond addressed the situation at the time, revealing that Cody’s condition was uncertain moving forward.
Now, Rhodes has provided an update himself, taking to Instagram Stories to let fans know how he’s doing.
“2 days in bed essentially but feeling good and ready for Memphis! Also, since I got through it 🪜 in one piece I got to keep the best promise…”
The ladder emoji was a clear nod to the brutal punishment he endured against Owens, but the good news is that he’s feeling well enough to get back to work.
With WrestleMania 41 on the horizon, all eyes are on Rhodes as he prepares for what’s next. Will he be at 100% for the biggest show of the year? Let us know what you think in the comments!
