Bayley wants to see WWE’s all-women’s premium live event make a comeback, and she’s not holding back.
Druing a recent interview with Screen Rant’s Adam Barnard, the former WWE Women’s Champion made it clear that she’s still pushing for Evolution 2 to finally happen.
“That’s even more opportunities for women’s wrestling to be showcased, you know? There’s so much more to do, there are so many more goals for us, now we have two more titles we can go after. I’ve been dying for an Evolution 2, and I think now is the perfect time. Bigger than ever, we have more girls than ever. We can have a freaking back-to-back two-night show if we wanted to, like WrestleMania. There’s so many girls, so many at NXT, we got this TNA partnership, we got two new titles. What are we doing? Let’s do it.”
Bayley’s comments come just days after her Royal Rumble loss, where she failed to win back-to-back Rumble matches. Instead, Charlotte Flair punched her ticket to WrestleMania 41, adding another accolade to her dominant career.
WWE first introduced Evolution on October 28, 2018, at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. The groundbreaking event featured an all-female lineup, headlined by Nikki Bella vs. Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship. Other standout matches included Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair in a brutal Last Woman Standing match and Shayna Baszler regaining the NXT Women’s Championship from Kairi Sane.
Despite positive fan reactions and strong support from the roster, WWE never followed up with a second installment. Rumors swirled in 2020 about a possible return, but the event never materialized. Now, with WWE’s women’s division stronger than ever and a working relationship with TNA, Bayley believes there’s no excuse not to bring it back.
With the women’s division stacked with talent and WWE’s ongoing expansion, is now the right time for Evolution 2? Would a two-night event be the right move? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
