Angelo Dawkins showed up at the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble with a crutch, and now we know why—the Street Profits star recently had knee surgery.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dawkins underwent a minor procedure to repair a torn meniscus just a couple of weeks before the event. Despite the injury, he was still involved in the 2 Out of 3 Falls WWE Tag Team Championship match between DIY and The Motor City Machine Guns, where he and Montez Ford played a major role in costing Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin their shot at the gold.
Meltzer revealed that Dawkins’ surgery wasn’t something WWE had publicly addressed, adding, “So Angelo Dawkins had minor knee surgery, torn meniscus, I believe, just in the last couple of weeks. So that’s why you had the crutch. And I don’t know that that was ever explained.”
Meltzer noted that it wasn’t brought up on commentary, and the only time it was mentioned was when Big E casually referenced it during the post-show, saying, “Oh yeah, he just had knee surgery.” Apparently, Dawkins himself told Big E earlier that day, and the comment wasn’t part of any planned storyline reveal.
Dawkins last wrestled at a WWE live event on December 28, but it looks like he won’t be out for long. The Street Profits aren’t going anywhere either—despite speculation last year, the duo is locked into WWE deals.
