Roman Reigns has been ruling the roost as the Head of the Table for almost five years now and during the height of his reign, there were extended periods where he remained away from WWE. Reigns has now made it clear that he is never worried about rushing back to WWE during his absence.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Roman Reigns explained why he never feels the need to rush back to WWE during his time away. He emphasized that he has set up a system so effectively that his absence does not affect his position. Comparing his approach to big business, Reigns stated that he has built a structure within WWE where things operate smoothly even when he is not present.

Reigns credited Paul Heyman for helping organize and manage responsibilities, making his role easier to handle. Reigns recalled the years of preparation, learning, and adjustments he made to reach his current level of dominance.

“No, there isn’t. No. Too good. I’ve set it up too good. Yeah, too smart. If you build your systems properly, this is no different than big business. I could sit there and mentor billionaires on building systems where you don’t even have to use your brain—systems that become instincts.

That’s all I’ve done. I’ve just created systems within the pro wrestling and sports entertainment world. I treat it no differently than any CEO running a major company. There are all these little things that have to happen, so many boxes to check constantly in this role. And thank God for the Wise Man—he organizes everything and makes it so much easier to handle.

But it’s just one of those things—you have to know what you’re doing. I put my time in, all the way back to Colony Pizza. We took our notes, did our studies, ran our lab work, made little adjustments here and there. And when the time was right—boom.”

The Tribal Chief made it clear that he doesn’t compete with anyone but himself, comparing his mindset to legendary athletes like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, who always aimed to improve. He believes that by becoming a better version of himself, those around him, like Jey Uso, are also forced to improve.

“But no, I don’t compete with anybody. I’m just competing against myself. It’s no different than Michael, Kobe, or all the greats—we’re just trying to create a better version of ourselves. And if I can make a better version of myself, he has no choice but to get better. Big Jim’s got to get better. Jey’s got to get better. Everybody. Cream rises to the top, and I believe in that.”

Reigns emphasized that success in WWE is about survival of the fittest and stated that he is simply better than everyone else. His confidence remains unshaken, and he carries himself with the conviction that he is at the top, no matter how long he is away.

“It’s survival of the fittest. I’m not out here truly manipulating, like we do on camera—I’m just better than everybody. And I believe it. I walk every step with that type of conviction.”

With his strong mindset, solid structure and confidence, Roman Reigns remains at the top of WWE, even when he’s not around and that’s never going to change. Now that he is part of the Royal Rumble event tonight, we’ll have to see if he will end up winning the match this time around and guarantee himself another spot in the main event of WrestleMania.
