The WWE Royal Rumble is always full of surprises, and it looks like Pat McAfee might be one of them.

According to Fightful Select, many backstage in WWE believe the former NFL star and SmackDown commentator will make an appearance in this Saturday’s Rumble match at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Given McAfee’s deep roots in Indianapolis, where he played for the Colts and built his media empire, a return at the Rumble makes perfect sense. McAfee has been a fan favorite in WWE, bringing his signature energy to the commentary booth and stepping into the ring on multiple occasions.

Pat’s WrestleMania 38 match against Austin Theory and impromptu bout against The Miz at WrestleMania 39 proved he can hold his own, and a Rumble return would instantly electrify the crowd.

While WWE has yet to confirm McAfee’s involvement, the speculation is running wild. The Rumble is known for its shocking entrants, and McAfee showing up in his home stadium would fit right into that tradition.

Whether it’s a one-off appearance or something more long-term remains to be seen, but all signs point to McAfee stepping back into the WWE spotlight.
