Nia Jax has been an unstoppable force since her return to WWE in 2023, completely revitalizing her career. She was at a low point when WWE released her in November 2021, but now Jax has revealed how the Bella Twins played a key role in her WWE return.

While speaking on the No Contest Wrestling podcast, Nia Jax was asked how she focused on herself and got back on track after being released by WWE in 2021. She said that at first she was really sad and comforted herself with food, and spending time with family and friends.

However, she soon realized she needed to work on herself. She felt like she had lost who she was because she got caught up in the pressures of the business, like winning, losing, and booking, instead of appreciating how lucky she was to be where she was.

“I’m not gonna lie, I crumbled a little bit. I was sad, I ate a lot of food to comfort my sadness. You know, I hung out with family and friends, but I realized that I needed to work on myself. Like, I lost who I was. You know, I got caught up in the business, I got caught up in dumb stuff that sometimes you do get caught up in this business, like winning and losing and booking and whatever, instead of realizing what a blessing it is to be in the position that I was and remembering who I am and where I came from.”

Nia Jax then revealed how Nikki Bella reached out to her during this time, offering support and then the Bella twins connected her with a life coach named Carrie, who had helped them in the past. Nia Jax found these sessions with Carrie to be incredibly valuable, helping her reconnect with herself and rediscover what made her happy, as she had been losing touch with her joy. She added that these sessions helped her eventually get back to WWE.

“I remember Nikki Bella reaching out and saying, ’cause I told the Bella twins at the time I was having a hard time, and they reached out with a life coach that they used, and her name was Carrie. I remember just having these really great sessions with Carrie and really diving into myself again, figuring out what makes me, me, and what made me happy again, because I was losing my happiness. This really helped me eventually getting back to WWE.”

Looking back, Nia Jax believes everything happens for a reason. She felt that being released from WWE gave her a chance to rediscover who she was and focus on what mattered most. She also got closer to her faith, gave herself to Jesus Christ, and went back to church, realizing the importance of staying true to herself and enjoying the good things in life.

When she returned at the 2023 Royal Rumble, she saw it as another chance to prove herself. Jax felt that the time off helped her become a better version of herself, both personally and in the ring.

“And you know, I do believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe that I was released to be able to get back to who I was and what I needed to do. I got back into my faith, you know, I gave myself to Jesus Christ, and I got back to church, and just realizing that I needed to still be true to who I am and just continue to enjoy the blessings that kept coming. And when I was able to come back at the Rumble, you know, at the beginning of 2023, I took that as another blessing, like, ‘Hey, this is another opportunity for me to try and see if I can do this again.’ And I think that the time off really helped me get back to myself, which made me even better in the wrestling ring.”

Nia Jax’s return to WWE shows the importance of second chances and how support from friends, like the Bella Twins, can help someone get back on track. Their help was crucial in her making a successful WWE return and proving that it’s never too late to start again. Now it remains to be seen how 2025 will turn out for Nia Jax, as it’s clear fans truly respect her now during her current run in WWE.
