AEW Dynamite’s January 31 episode rolled into Huntsville, Alabama’s Probst Arena. Will Ospreay was on the show, and he had a bone to pick with Brian Cage. The two of them got to throw down as well.
Will Ospreay took on Brian Cage this week on Dynamite. Cage, who is now aligned with Don Callis, has not gotten along with Ospreay in the slightest in recent memory.
This match kicked off AEW Dynamite, and fans were very excited to see Will Ospreay come out. Ospreay will team up with Kenny Omega to take on Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher at AEW Grand Slam Australia on February 15.
Before the match started, Don Callis brought Will Ospreay’s attention to the big screen, where Kenny Omega was shown backstage laid out. That left Ospreay by himself in this match, as Brian Cage jumped him as he was distracted.
Brian Cage had some fun taking advantage of Will Ospreay early on, which included nailing a long suspended suplex on the outside. Ospreay was able to fight back, but The Machine was a tough opponent.
In the end, Will Ospreay was able to lock in a Styles Clash and land the finisher for the win. This a big come from behind victory for Ospreay, but Lance Archer jumped him after the match to beat Ospreay down. Fans in Huntsville chanted for Kenny Omega to come out and save Ospreay, and he finally made his way out with a chair to deal with the heels. Then the Don Callis Family used numbers as their advantage to beat down the babyfaces in a big way. The segment ended with Omega taking even more punishment as he tried to crawl toward Don Callis.
We will have to see what’s next for this story. At this point, Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay still have a lot of fight left in them.
