The 2018 All In event was a major moment in wrestling history, as it eventually led to the formation of AEW. Jordynne Grace was part of the event, but she never joined AEW after the company’s launch in 2019. She has now explained why she didn’t make the move to AEW in the first place.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Jordynne Grace was asked why she never joined AEW, especially after competing in the first All In event. Grace explained that the timing of everything played a big role in her decision.
Right after the All In event, Scott D’Amore contacted her on Twitter with a contract offer for TNA, and she signed almost immediately. Because of this, she didn’t have the chance to explore opportunities with Ring of Honor or AEW.
“I think it was just bad timing. Like, almost immediately after All In happened, Scott D’Amore messaged me on Twitter and offered me a contract, and I just signed there almost immediately. So I didn’t really get a chance to really talk to Ring of Honor or AEW or anybody.”
When asked about possible opportunities with AEW after the company’s inception, she explained that she never had those conversations because she was quick to commit to TNA. She felt it was the right decision at that moment, as she said, “Yeah, I think I never got to have those conversations just because I was immediately like, ‘I’ll go to TNA, let’s do it.'”
In the meantime, Jordynne Grace has already signed a multi-year contract with WWE following her departure from TNA Wrestling. There was speculation about Jordynne Grace joining AEW in the past, but nothing came of it. Now, she’s set to take over WWE’s women’s division, a move that fans believe she absolutely deserves.
