Injuries can happen at any time in the world of professional wrestling, as even the slightest miscalculation can lead to horrible results. Unfortunately, JD McDonagh has now confirmed he suffered serious injuries following a dangerous spot on Raw this week.
JD McDonagh took to Twitter and confirmed that he suffered injuries after the January 27 edition of WWE Raw. He thanked fans for their concern, stating he’s doing okay despite having a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung. He mentioned that he’ll be out for a couple of months but expressed gratitude that things could have been much worse.
“First off, thanks to everyone for the messages and the concern. I’m good. I’ve got a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung, so I’m going to be out for a couple months. All things considered, it could have been a lot worse, so I’m grateful for that. See ya in a bit.”
This all happened during the World Tag Team title match where McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio faced the champions, The War Raiders. McDonagh attempted a moonsault off the ring and landed on Erik, but his neck hit the announce table. Doctors checked on him during a commercial break, but he refused help. McDonagh finished the match but he and Mysterio lost after Mysterio was pinned with the War Machine, allowing The War Raiders to keep their titles.
While McDonagh will be out for a couple of months, it’s comforting to know that things could have been much worse. Regardless, we wish him a speedy recovery and hope he comes back stronger than ever.
