Buff Bagwell became famous in WCW and had a less successful run in WWE. However, he has gone through tough times, especially with substance abuse. He’s in a much better place now, but he recently revealed why he will be going to jail soon.

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Buff Bagwell shared an update about his life, saying that he’s in a great place. He’s feeling good, has been sober for two and a half years, is closer to God, and is in a great relationship with Stacy Brown. Despite all the positive things happening in his life, Bagwell explained that he has to go to jail.

“Today, I’ll explain everything, but it’s important for people to know that, first of all, I’m in the best place I’ve ever been in my life. I feel great, I’m doing great—two and a half years sober, closer to God than I’ve ever been, and in the best relationship I’ve ever had with Stacy Brown. Those three things are crucial, and they’re perfect. But today, I have to go to jail.”

On January 27, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., Bagwell would be going to Cobb County Jail. He wanted to make sure people know he’s doing well and not to believe any rumors. He’s in a very strict program, and even though he’s had some small issues with it in the past, he’s doing his best to follow the rules. Bagwell mentioned how life can be unpredictable, and he never expected to be in this situation again.

“But today, I have to go to jail. At 5:00 p.m. on January 27th, 2025, Marcus Bagwell will be going to jail at the Cobb County Jail. The reason I’m telling people this is because I want everyone to know that I’m doing great. The program I’m in is a very strict, strong program—very, very strict, very strong. I’ve had past problems with them that I thought were minor, but it’s the rules of the program. It’s crazy how life works—you have to constantly stay connected with life because you just never know what’s going to come at you. I never thought I’d be going to jail again, and that’s what we’re talking about today.”

Bagwell clarified that the mugshot people might see online is not related to his current situation. The photo is from an arrest four years ago, and some people may wrongly connect it to new allegations.

Bagwell explained that the reason he’s going to jail is because he broke a rule in his program, which resulted in a “jail sanction.” This is a type of punishment where someone might have to go to jail, do community service, or pay a fine. In his case, it’s a three-day jail sentence.

“You’re going to see things online, but I want you to remember this video and remember how I look today, including this shirt, because this is going to be in the mugshot. This shirt is going to be in the picture everyone sees, but the action figure and the pillow buddy won’t be in it. I might be in orange by then, I don’t know, but just remember, I’m shaved, no earrings, all that.

They’re going to put out a brand-new picture with my mugshot, and they’ll say DUI, speeding, all this stuff—stuff from my last arrest four years ago. And I don’t understand how they can do it. I’ve had lawyers check, and I can’t believe they can get away with this—it’s defamation of character. But for some reason, it’s not illegal in this case. The Georgia Gazette publishes this picture, and they sell the magazine with my picture on the front. It’s crazy they can do that, but it’s important for everyone to know—please don’t fall into the rumors. Don’t believe the idea that Bagwell did it again, that I relapsed.

I want all my fans and people to know that I’m doing great. This is called a jail sanction. What exactly is a jail sanction? A sanction is something you get in trouble for in DUI court. It could be for being late or anything else. You might get a three-day jail sanction, like I did. A sanction is a wide term—it means you’ve violated rules. It could be a fine, community service, or even jail time. Mine is a jail sanction, but again, it won’t say that Marcus Bagwell was arrested today for violating program confidentiality rules. It’s not going to say that. It will say that I got a DUI and speeding, but that’s from 2020. Please don’t believe that. Remember how I look today, and know that I’m doing great. I don’t want people to worry. I’m going to jail today for three days for this jail sanction in the Cobb County Accountability Court.”

Bagwell emphasized that this isn’t because he relapsed or got arrested again for a DUI. He asked fans not to believe the rumors and to remember that he’s in a good place. Bagwell thanked his fans for their support and asked them to pray for him during this time.

“Again, a sanction means you’ve done something wrong in the program, and you have to pay either a fine, do community service, or, in my case, serve a jail sanction. But it will not show that the sheriff’s office is arresting me for violating program rules. It will say I was arrested for a DUI and speeding, but that’s from 2020. Please don’t believe that. Know what’s going on, and please pray for me and continue to be in my corner like you’ve always been.”

As Buff Bagwell’s journey continues, it’s clear he’s committed to staying on track, despite past setbacks. Fans can feel confident that Bagwell is in a much better place now and will keep moving forward after his brief time in jail.
