ECW may have shut down in 2001, but its spirit still lives on, and nobody knows that better than Francine.

The Queen of Extreme recently spoke with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp and revealed that ECW legends still get love from fans—even after all these years.

“Yeah, it’s been really, really good for us, for ECW alum,” Francine said when discussing her experience at conventions. “We still get a good, warm reception everywhere we go. I am beyond shocked at that at this point because it’s been years and years and years, and you still hear the ECW chants everywhere, which blows my mind.”

Francine made it clear that she doesn’t take the love for granted, and she believes ECW’s legacy will never fade thanks to diehard fans and WWE keeping the brand alive on streaming services.

“What’s nice is because of WWE—whether it was the Network, Netflix, or whatever is going on—they’re still showcasing ECW talent,” she explained. “So ECW is never gonna die anytime soon. It’s got a good shelf life, and I’m really happy that I’m a part of that.”

ECW might be long gone, but the energy, passion, and chaos it brought to wrestling still lives on. Francine sees it firsthand every time fans chant those three iconic letters, proving that the hardcore legacy isn’t fading anytime soon. With WWE keeping ECW in the spotlight and diehard fans never letting it go, the brand’s influence is here to stay.
