Zayda Steel is getting noticed in all the right places. As one of the standout names in WWE’s new ID program, she’s not just grinding on the independent scene with GCW and other top promotions—she’s also catching the eyes of major names in WWE.
Appearing on Conversations with The Wrestling Classic, Steel opened up about what it’s like being part of WWE’s latest initiative to scout and develop future Superstars. One of the biggest takeaways? WWE legends are watching.
“I can say that our matches are being watched,” Steel revealed. “We found out recently, they’re like, ‘Oh, X-Pac can now watch your match and give you guys critiques.’ I’m like, ‘What the f—’ So him, Kenny Dykstra, who works closely with Triple H, literally in the offices. So we are getting feedback from top, top people. So that’s another plus as well.”
Getting real-time critiques from industry veterans like Sean Waltman and Kenny Dykstra is a game-changer for WWE ID talent. With Dykstra being closely tied to Triple H’s inner circle, it’s clear WWE is investing heavily in scouting the next big stars.
Steel also dropped an interesting detail about her visit to the WWE Performance Center, saying she was surprised by how many WWE talents already knew who she was.
“A couple of us were at the PC. We got to train there. Funny enough, as I’m there, I’m saying hi to people. I’m not gonna name names, but there’s a good amount of the girls that were like, ‘Oh my God, I know who you are. I follow you on Instagram,’ or, ‘I’ve seen you on social media,’ or whatever. So, yes. You’d be surprised who knows who you are.”
With WWE ID shaping up to be a proving ground for future stars, Steel is already making sure she’s one of the names people remember. Between her independent run and WWE’s backing, she’s got all the right pieces in place for a big-time breakout.
