Triple H and Shawn Michaels know how to hype a show, but this time, it wasn’t just about promoting WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event—it was about the hat.
About 45 minutes before the show, Triple H took to Twitter to remind fans to tune in. The video started with him wearing Shawn Michaels’ signature cowboy hat, head down like he was trying to pull off some kind of surprise. Then he lifted his head, smirking, and said, “Ha, you guys all thought it was somebody else, didn’t ya?”
Michaels wasn’t having it. The WWE Hall of Famer quickly stepped into the frame, looking annoyed before demanding, “Are you serious? Give me my hat back.” Triple H, of course, didn’t listen, slapping the hat on his head instead.
That’s when Michaels shut it down. “You’re not the one to do this, alright. Live from my hometown, Saturday Night’s Main Event.”
Triple H wrapped it up by plugging the show, “8 PM tonight, nationwide, NBCU, Peacock!” but the real highlight was Michaels looking absolutely done with his longtime friend’s antics.
Triple H’s tweet added to the moment, writing, “#SNME is live NATIONWIDE at 8/7c on @nbc & @peacock … and @ShawnMichaels, you need a bigger hat…”
With a stacked card featuring GUNTHER vs. Jey Uso, Rhea Ripley vs. Nia Jax, and a major contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, WWE is pulling out all the stops—but somehow, Triple H stealing Shawn Michaels’ hat has become the real talking point heading into the show.
