WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event came to San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center for the first time ever on January 25. The event marked an exciting milestone for the venue, as it was the first time they have held the famous WWE special event. WWE usually brings big matches to their NBC specials, and that included a World Heavyweight Title match.

GUNTHER has been a very strong champion since SummerSlam, but he had quite a test for him tonight in Texas. The Ring General took on Jey Uso with his title on the line, and with Uce’s momentum, fans were hoping that he would YEET his way to a major singles title win.

This match closed out the two-hour NBC special. Fans in Texas were more than ready to see this contest go down, and Jey Uso had the entire arena YEETING away. This contest also got a big match feel, thanks to Lilian Garcia’s introductions.

The moment the bell sounded, GUNTHER jumped Jey Uso to get an early advantage. Then Jey fought back as fans chanted “YEET!” with each punch he delivered. Then GUNTHER took control once again as they cut to commercial break.

Jey Uso couldn’t even start a rally, because GUNTHER was there to chop him back down. This kept the match at GUNTHER’s pace throughout much of the contest. However, Jey Uso was able to fight back to give himself some space and time as the physical matchup continued.

GUNTHER nailed a stiff dropkick and a powerbomb when Jey Uso went for a spear. Then Jey kicked out at a close two count. In the end, after GUNTHER ate all of Jey Uso’s signature moves, and an Uso Splash, the Ring General pulled off two powerbombs and retained the title.

This was quite a way to close out the show. Now we know that GUNTHER will go into the road to WrestleMania 41 as WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
