WWE is rolling toward WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, but the location of future WrestleMania events remains a mystery. While Indianapolis was previously linked to hosting the biggest event in wrestling, new reports suggest fans in Indiana will be waiting much longer than expected.
Last June, WWE and Indiana Sports Corp struck a major deal to bring Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and WrestleMania to Indianapolis. The Royal Rumble is locked in for February 1, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium, and the city will also host a two-night SummerSlam and a future WrestleMania. However, the timeline for WrestleMania just got a reality check.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, rumors of WrestleMania 2027 in Indianapolis are flat-out false. “There is a WrestleMania date coming to Indianapolis, but it’s many years from now. I believe in the early 2030s.”
That means WWE fans in Indy who were hoping to get WrestleMania back after 1992’s WrestleMania VIII at the Hoosier Dome will have to sit tight. That show featured legendary matchups like Roddy Piper vs. Bret Hart for the Intercontinental Championship, Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage for the WWE Championship, and Hulk Hogan vs. Sid Justice.
With WWE committed to bringing major events to Indianapolis, it’s only a matter of time before WrestleMania lands there. The real question is—where will WrestleMania 43, 44, and beyond be held in the meantime? Only time will tell.
