Sting ended his long and illustrious career as he and Darby Allin defeated The Young Bucs at AEW Revolution last year. Since then, Sting has kept himself busy by doing various meet and greets and the occasional AEW appearance. With that said, Sting has now confirmed that 2025 will be the last time fans will get to see him in full gear.

Sting took to Twitter and announced that 2025 will be his final year appearing in full gear at events. He shared that he has enjoyed meeting fans worldwide and interacting with them in his signature Stinger war paint. While he has loved the experience, he has decided to retire this part of his appearances after next year, calling it a tough decision to say out loud.

“I have enjoyed meeting fans at events around the world. As much as I have loved interacting with you all in the traditional Stinger war paint, I’ve decided that 2025 will be my last year appearing in full gear. I guess it’s 2025 or never. Wow. Tough to speak that out.”

Sting last appeared as part of AEW programming during the AEW All In pay-per-view back in August and there’s no telling when he will return to AEW television again. In the meantime, Sting confirmed signing a multi-year deal with AEW, so fans can expect him to be part of the AEW family for a long time.
