WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has been very open about the injuries and health challenges he’s faced throughout his legendary wrestling career. He kept fans updated on his impressive 100-pound weight loss journey, and now almost a year later, Foley has hinted at competing in this year’s Royal Rumble after achieving his weight loss goal.
Mick Foley uploaded a video of himself on his YouTube channel, sharing an update on his weight loss journey. He mentioned that his last official weigh-in on camera was in March 2024, when he weighed 360 pounds, down from his highest weight of 377 pounds. His goal is to reach 280 pounds by his birthday, June 7th, 2025. During a recent check, he was excited to see his weight at 279.9 pounds, marking significant progress.
“I’m feeling pretty good. Okay, so my last official weigh-in on camera was March 2024. I was 360 lbs. I believe I was coming down from a high all-time high of 377 lbs. The goal was to get down to 280 pounds by my birthday, June 7th, 2025. We’re going to check on that progress right now. Wow, 279.9 lbs, this is exciting.”
Later on in the video, Mick Foley teased the possibility of entering this year’s Royal Rumble after receiving a call from Triple H. He mentioned feeling great after participating in OVW’s Nightmare Rumble, where he wasn’t exhausted and had a performer’s high. While he didn’t directly confirm his involvement, he definitely kept hopes alive after getting a call from Triple H about the Royal Rumble.
“I’m feeling pretty good. As a matter of fact, I was an entrant in OVW’s Nightmare Rumble, and even though I didn’t do much afterward, I wasn’t winded. I didn’t feel exhausted—I felt really good. I drove home, and I had that performer’s high. I wouldn’t say I’m not entering the Royal Rumble… but I’m not entering the Royal Rumble.”
Ah, now that’s a pretty big leap from what I’ve been saying. I was in the Nightmare Rumble, I laughed, I did okay, I had fun. But hold on—let me just get this.
[Picks up phone]203? Hello? [Triple H’s music plays] Hey, Hunter. Yeah, no, I’m doing good. You saw me in the Nightmare Rumble? I’ve lost some weight? Yeah, I’ve been working out. Royal Rumble wa—turn the camera, this is secret. Okay. Alright, let me call you right back. Okay. Alright, thanks, Triple H.”
The Royal Rumble Premium Live Event is set for February 1, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium, so we will have to wait and see whether Mick Foley will end up competing in the Royal Rumble match this year, as fans would love to see it happen.
