Nic Nemeth was released by WWE in September 2023, which surprised many fans. Thankfully, he has found success since his release and even became the TNA World Champion. With that said, he has revealed why he won’t sign a long-term deal with TNA Wrestling.
While speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Nic Nemeth was asked about signing a contract extension with TNA Wrestling. Nic Nemeth stated that he refuses to sign a long-term deal with any company, including TNA Wrestling, despite believing in the company and its future. He explained that after leaving a long-term relationship with WWE, he decided not to commit to another lengthy contract but reassured them that he is not going anywhere and loves being in TNA.
Over the past year, his appreciation for TNA has grown, both behind the scenes and in the ring. He showed confidence in the company’s future, praising individuals like Tommy Dreamer, Gail Kim, and Ariel for their contributions. Nemeth believes the next five years will be significant for TNA and is proud to be part of the promotion. While he has no plans to sign a long-term contract, he made it clear that he intends to stay with TNA for a long time.
“I’m able to do whatever the hell I want. I mean, I didn’t tell anybody that, but I believe in the company so much that I refuse to sign a long-term deal with anybody. I just got out of a long-term relationship with WWE, and I said, ‘Hey, listen, I don’t want to sign it.’ I’m not going anywhere—I love being here.
This last year has made my love for TNA, both behind the scenes and in the ring, even stronger. I believe in so many people here—Tommy, Gail, Ariel, and everyone working behind the scenes, as well as everyone in the ring. I feel like the next five years are going to be huge for them. So, I’m proud to be a member. I won’t ever sign a long-term deal, but I’m going to be here for a long time.”
While Nemeth doesn’t plan to sign a long-term deal, he has reassured fans that he isn’t leaving anytime soon. As TNA continues to grow, he remains a major part of the company’s resurgence and future success and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
