MVP knows his time in the ring is winding down, and he’s not hiding it.
The former WWE United States Champion made his AEW in-ring debut on Dynamite: Maximum Carnage, teaming with Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley to take down Mark Briscoe and Private Party. It was his first TV match since July 2022—a rare sight for a man who’s spent most of his AEW run managing Benjamin and Lashley.
After the match, MVP took to Instagram to reflect on his career and made it clear that retirement isn’t far off.
“Vintage MVP!!!! 2025 and I’m still BALLIN!!! The clock is ticking on my in ring career. I don’t have much time left. But I promise to give you everything I’ve got until I finally reach the final match. 🫡”
MVP’s last competitive bout before this was a Bloodsport match against Josh Barnett in 2024. While his AEW future seems locked into a managerial role, stepping back into the ring reminded fans why he’s been a force in the business for decades.
