Kenny Omega’s long-awaited in-ring return didn’t just deliver in the ring—it delivered in the ratings too.
According to Wrestling Observer, Omega’s match against Brian Cage on the January 15 episode of AEW Dynamite pulled in 831,000 viewers with a 0.19 rating in the key 18-49 demo, making it the most-watched segment of the night.
The first quarter-hour of Dynamite typically benefits from a lead-in boost thanks to The Big Bang Theory, but Omega vs. Cage still managed to dominate in key demos, including being the high point for women’s viewership. Meanwhile, the Casino Battle Royal topped the charts for men 18-49 and overall 18-49, while Jon Moxley vs. Powerhouse Hobbs ranked as the second highest in that demographic.
While Dynamite as a whole averaged 679,000 viewers with a 0.18 rating, Omega’s return clearly brought extra eyes to the product. The numbers also don’t include MAX streaming viewership, meaning the actual total could be even higher.
With Will Ospreay making a surprise run-in after the match and tensions heating up between him and Omega, this could be just the beginning of another major draw for AEW.
