Corey Graves, known for his sharp wit and signature style at the commentary desk, is reportedly unhappy after being moved to WWE NXT following a major commentary reshuffle.

The changes saw Michael Cole and Pat McAfee returning to WWE Raw, while Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett took over SmackDown. Graves’ move to NXT has sparked speculation, with Fightful Select reporting signs of frustration from the longtime commentator.

On January 13, Graves took to Twitter/X to share his thoughts, reflecting on his journey in WWE. “Imagine chasing your dream. Then being TOLD (not deciding) that you’re no longer physically able to pursue your dream,” Graves wrote. He added, “Then you dedicate your life to something ‘dream adjacent’ and being pretty fucking awesome at it. And then, when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, being told you’re not famous enough for your own job.”

Graves followed up on January 14, hinting that he had more to say that night. However, Earlier reports indicated that Graves was seen leaving Orlando, skipping NXT entirely. Fightful Select couldn’t confirm his absence but noted that as of 3:45 PM ET, he was not present at NXT rehearsals.

Sources close to Graves have claimed his frustration is legitimate, though it remains unclear if this situation is a work or a shoot. Graves, who re-signed with WWE in January 2024, still has years left on his contract and lives in Pittsburgh, far from WWE’s Florida hub. WWE higher-ups believe Graves could return to Raw or SmackDown by the spring, with one source praising his flexibility and dedication to his role.

The NXT roster and production team were reportedly caught off guard by Graves’ appearance at New Year’s Evil on January 7. Many believed his presence at the show was purely coincidental. For now, the future of Graves’ commentary career remains uncertain, but his recent comments have sparked plenty of conversation among fans and industry insiders alike.
