The WWE Universe has been shaken up once again, this time behind the announcer’s table. With WWE Raw moving to Netflix, the commentary teams underwent a major reshuffle. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee returned to Raw, while Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett moved over to SmackDown. Meanwhile, Corey Graves, formerly a part of SmackDown’s commentary team, found himself back on WWE NXT, kicking things off at the New Year’s Evil special.

On January 13, Corey Graves took to Twitter/X to share his raw emotions about the changes and his journey in WWE. Graves delivered a deeply personal message, asking fans to put themselves in his shoes. He wrote, “Imagine chasing your dream. Then being TOLD (not deciding) that you’re no longer physically able to pursue your dream.” Graves referred to his forced retirement from in-ring action due to injuries that cut his wrestling career short.

He continued, “Then you dedicate your life to something ‘dream adjacent’ and being pretty fucking awesome at it. And then, when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor…” Graves left the sentence hanging but made his point crystal clear. It’s evident he’s addressing criticism or doubts about his recent role changes in WWE.

Graves wrapped up his post with a message for anyone questioning his whereabouts, offering an unfiltered look at his mindset. While his fans applauded his honesty, the tweet sparked conversations about the challenges faced by wrestlers transitioning into other roles within WWE.
