AEW star Ricochet isn’t here for fair-weather fans, and he let them know in a fiery tweet following the December 25 episode of AEW Dynamite. After dealing with another round of toilet paper antics from the crowd during his match against Darby Allin, Ricochet took to Twitter with a direct message for anyone thinking about switching sides now that he’s one of AEW’s most polarizing figures.
“I don’t wanna see anyone switching it up,” Ricochet tweeted. “If you didn’t like me before, you missed your chance! No jumping on the bandwagon now. Cheese Curlers!”
The tweet quickly lit up social media, with fans debating whether Ricochet’s no-nonsense attitude makes him AEW’s next big heel or if he’s simply adding fuel to the fire.
The incident in question happened during Dynamite at the Hammerstein Ballroom, where fans once again pelted Ricochet with rolls of toilet paper as he made his entrance. Instead of ignoring the crowd, Ricochet grabbed a roll and threw it back, but the crowd’s rowdy energy only grew.
This isn’t Ricochet’s first toilet-paper tango. He faced similar antics during the December 21 episode of AEW Collision against Will Ospreay. While some see the crowd’s behavior as crossing the line, others argue it’s part of the wrestling spectacle and only adds to Ricochet’s growing reputation as one of AEW’s most talked-about stars.
Ricochet’s bold tweet about “bandwagon fans” has certainly sparked conversation, leaving many wondering how far his fiery persona will take him in AEW.
