Former WWE Champion Big E has been sidelined for over two years after suffering a devastating neck injury, and it seems his return to the ring is becoming less likely.
According to a report from Fightful Select, WWE sources don’t expect Big E to be medically cleared to compete again, casting serious doubts over his future in professional wrestling.
Sean Ross Sapp revealed that WWE has not added any extra time to Big E’s contract, even though he remains under the company’s payroll since the injury happened on their watch. However, there’s no confirmation on whether Big E has signed a new deal or is currently negotiating one.
Fans were recently shocked when Big E was kicked out of The New Day by Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston during the December 2 episode of Monday Night RAW. Adding fuel to the storyline drama, Kingston and Woods even mocked Big E’s neck injury, further heightening speculation about his future.
While fans are holding onto hope for a miraculous recovery, WWE insiders reportedly see an in-ring return as unlikely. “Only time will tell” has become the prevailing sentiment, leaving the door slightly open for the possibility of Big E defying the odds.
Big E’s career has been defined by his larger-than-life personality and in-ring power, but his road back remains uncertain. The wrestling world will be watching closely to see if the former champ can rewrite his story.
