Kairi Sane has been part of the WWE family for several years now and she made her debut in NXT with her iconic Pirate Princess gimmick, which was a huge hit with fans. Sane has now revealed the inspiration behind her Pirate Princess character in WWE.

While speaking on Ten Count Media, Kairi Sane explained the inspiration behind her Pirate Princess character with the help of a translator. She revealed that before her wrestling career, she was involved in yachting and sailing and even served as a representative in Japan, spending a lot of time around the sea.

Wanting to incorporate a part of her personal life into her wrestling persona, she decided on a pirate character. She also mentioned being influenced by Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean.

“Before wrestling, she used to do yachting and sailing and was even a representative in Japan for competitions, so she spent a lot of time around the sea. She wanted to bring a part of herself into her wrestling persona, and what better way than a pirate character? She was also influenced by Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean.”
