AEW’s decision to move its December 7 Collision taping to GalaxyCon Columbus turned out to be a successful pivot.

While the venue change from the Nationwide Arena sparked initial curiosity, Fightful Select has revealed that the event “ended up going well,” despite being a “major adjustment and change for people backstage.”

The unconventional setting at GalaxyCon brought a unique dynamic to the live show, blending AEW’s action-packed wrestling with the vibrant energy of the pop culture convention. However, the shift also meant some notable absences from the Collision broadcast. Fightful Select noted that “there were a number of talent at GalaxyCon who didn’t appear on Collision, including Britt Baker.”

Despite these hurdles, AEW demonstrated its adaptability and commitment to delivering high-quality entertainment for its fans. The GalaxyCon setting created an intimate and interactive experience that differed from the typical arena environment, offering a memorable night for those in attendance.
