Bryan Danielson had previously stated that the next time he lost a match, it would mark the end of his full-time in-ring career. At AEW WrestleDream, that moment came to pass. Following the event, details about his in-ring future have emerged.
AEW WrestleDream 2024 was a night to remember, packed with thrilling matches that kept fans on the edge of their seats. The main event saw Bryan Danielson put his AEW World Championship on the line against Jon Moxley in a much-anticipated battle.
Jon Moxley ultimately came out on top, forcing Danielson to submit and capturing the title. However, the night took a dark turn when the Blackpool Combat Club launched a brutal post-match assault on Danielson, resulting in him being stretchered out, leaving fans with an incredibly sad conclusion to the event.
While speaking during the Fightful Weekly Q&A Podcast, Sean Ross Sapp provided an update on Bryan Danielson’s in-ring status following WrestleDream. Currently, there are no definite plans for Danielson to return to wrestling, but the door isn’t closed, as his focus is on his family and addressing his neck issues. While he’s expressed interest in returning in some form, the seriousness of his physical condition became clearer as he wrapped up his recent appearances. Despite this, AEW has continued to use “full-time” language about him on television.
Nevertheless, fans will have to wait to see how long Bryan Danielson will be off AEW television, especially since he is expected to be away for an extended period due to his upcoming neck surgery. It seems likely that his recovery will keep him out of action for quite some time.
