Hiroko Suzuki, a familiar name for fans of WWE’s Ruthless Aggression era, is set to return to the ring after nearly 20 years away. Suzuki will make her debut for Southern Honor Wrestling at their RumbleJack event on August 9.
The RumbleJack event will feature the titular RumbleJack match, which will be the largest in its history with 40 participants competing. The match will follow a format similar to WWE’s Royal Rumble, with the winner earning a shot at the SHW Heavyweight Championship. Suzuki will join a lineup that includes former AEW star QT Marshall, Alexander Lev, CT Keys, and Darian Bengston.
This will be Hiroko Suzuki’s fifth match in her wrestling career and her first since a tag-team match for HUSTLE on December 25, 2005. Known for her WWE stint from 2004 to 2005, where she served as the manager and translator for her real-life husband, Kenzo Suzuki, Hiroko appeared in WWE’s ‘Kimono Match’ against Torrie Wilson on the February 2005 edition of SmackDown in Japan.
Following their WWE release in July 2005, shortly after being drafted to Raw in the 2005 Draft Lottery, Hiroko and Kenzo returned to Japan. Hiroko became the General Manager of HUSTLE by the end of that year. Outside the ring, Hiroko has made a name for herself in politics, having been elected to the Funabashi city council in 2015. We’ll have to see how Hiroko Suzuki will fare in her first match in almost two decades.
