MJF made his highly anticipated return at Double or Nothing and followed it up with an appearance on the June 5th edition of AEW Dynamite. After the events of the show, it appears AEW’s plans for MJF at Forbidden Door this year has been revealed.

During the June 5 edition of AEW Dynamite, MJF began his promo segment with lighthearted antics before shifting his focus to the current top figures in AEW. With precision, MJF name-dropped Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, and AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland, delivering his signature scathing remarks aimed squarely at their stature.

MJF continued to assert his superiority until his monologue was abruptly disrupted by Rush, who had previously issued a stern warning. What followed was a tense verbal exchange between the two, escalating into a heated confrontation that culminated in Rush charging into the ring to exchange blows with MJF. Chaos erupted, prompting officials to intervene and bring an end to the brawl.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about AEW’s plans for MJF for the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. He noted that AEW seems to be planning for MJF to take on Rush at the event.
