WWE officials are constantly on the lookout to enhance their roster by signing the next big thing or securing established free agents. Multiple companies are reportedly interested in signing veteran star Mike Bailey when he enters free agency.
Mike Bailey, known in the wrestling world as “Speedball,” began his career in 2006. The Canadian grappler has found success across various promotions, including PWG, PROGRESS Wrestling, and CZW. He signed with TNA on Halloween 2021 and has been with the promotion since, while also making his debut for NJPW in 2023.
Bailey’s TNA contract, renewed in 2022, is set to expire at the end of this year. According to a recent report on Fightful Select, Bailey is expected to draw interest from both WWE and AEW.
While it’s too early for any negotiations with either WWE or AEW due to his current contract status, sources indicate that the former Impact X-Division Champion has supporters in both companies. TNA is also expected to be keen on re-signing the 33-year-old wrestler.
It’s worth noting that Bailey’s TNA contract does not include the one-year extension option that many talents have. This clause is what allowed TNA to keep Josh Alexander under contract until at least February 2025.
With Bailey’s impressive track record and diverse experience, it’s no surprise that major promotions are eyeing him as a valuable addition to their rosters.
