Drew McIntyre has honed his social media presence into a powerful tool, using his menacing antics to roast fellow WWE superstars, most notably CM Punk. Despite his recent defeat at WrestleMania 40, McIntyre shows no signs of slowing down with his trolling of The Best in the World.

The rivalry between McIntyre and Punk intensified at WrestleMania 40, where Punk blindsided McIntyre after his match with Seth Rollins. This surprise attack allowed Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and snatch the World Heavyweight title from Drew McIntyre fueling his desire for revenge against Punk.

Since then, McIntyre and CM Punk have been embroiled in a heated war of words, with their feud escalating each week with their game of cat and mouse and McIntyre even taking jab inspired by Eminem during their exchanges.

Recently, CM Punk announced his return to WWE video games as part of WWE 2K24, suggesting McIntyre play as him. In response, after calling him washed up, The Scottish Warrior did in fact play the game but selected his own character against CM Punk.

He took to his X to drop the footage from his WWE 2K24 gameplay where CM Punk can be seen landing a double underhook slam from the top only to land wrong and injure himself, being a nod to Punk sustaining early injuries upon his multiple returns and the triceps one caused at the hands of Drew at the 2024 Royal Rumble.

“lol he’s in the game for one day and already hurt 💀.”

The growing tensions have further set the stage for their ongoing feud. Having said that, fans are eagerly awaiting Punk and Drew’s return from their respective injuries to witness the highly anticipated showdown inside the squared circle between the two at a major WWE PLE.
