Kenny Omega recently shared an update on his health, addressing concerns following his appearance on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite from a hospital bed. During the show, Omega revealed plans for Anarchy in the Arena at AEW Double or Nothing but had been incapacitated by The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry on the May 1st episode.

Speaking on his Twitch stream, Omega disclosed, “I did have to go back to the hospital. The good news is that I was able to get some pre-op stuff done.” He expressed gratitude for his top-tier doctor, saying, “He’s done me a solid. I will actually be getting surgery very, very, very soon.” Despite the need to leave town again, Omega emphasized his confidence in his physician, stating, “Even though it’s a major surgery, I do feel the most comfortable with this individual.”

However, Omega acknowledged the bittersweet nature of the situation, remarking, “Bad news is, it’s like an end of an era because sadly this may be my last stream in a while.” He expressed optimism about his recovery, reflecting on past uncertainties: “There was a moment when I was dealing with this stuff where I wasn’t sure if I could come back.”

The AEW wrestler revealed that his health issues date back to his early days in AEW, noting, “I do believe that’s when the diverticulitis started was the beginning days of AEW.” He explained how he initially mistook symptoms for other injuries, saying, “I always thought the diverticulitis was my hernia. I thought the mesh had burst.”

Despite the challenges, Omega sees this period as an opportunity for reinvention: “It’s given me a chance to consider a new Kenny Omega, repackaging, and sort of rebranding before I come back.” He expressed a desire to return to wrestling in a different capacity, aiming to bring something new to the table.

Omega had previously announced his diverticulitis diagnosis in December 2023, leading to his indefinite hiatus from television appearances. Ringside News extends well wishes to Omega as he continues his recovery journey.
