AEW has emerged as one of the biggest and direct competitors to global wrestling in only five years, WWE. Continuing to produce high-quality in-ring action and entertainment, AEW President Tony Khan, who is currently operating remotely, shed light on an important discussion surrounding an AEW star.

During recent interview with Tony Pike and Rick Ucchino on Cincy 360, Tony Khan highlighted the distinctive elements that set AEW apart from other wrestling promotions. He highlighted AEW’s dedication to delivering fast-paced, exhilarating action, coupled with authentic interviews that foster genuine connections between wrestlers and fans.

Unlike some competitors, indirectly mentioning WWE, Khan noted, that AEW interviews are not scripted, allowing for a more natural and relatable dialogue through the strategic use of bullet points. Tony believed that it instilled the importance of authenticity, ensuring that audiences perceive wrestlers as genuine individuals rather than scripted characters.

Overall, the AEW CEO underscored the wrestling startup’s commitment to delivering high-quality entertainment, authentic storytelling, and a roster filled with some of the most prominent names in wrestling, positioning the promotion as a leading force in the industry.

“AEW, we have, what I believe is the most exciting matches and we have great stories happening. We’re really a challenger brand. We’re fighting against an establishment, and we’ve built a huge fanbase in a pretty quick time. People that love the fast-paced, exciting action, and the interviews. In AEW, I think people really feel a connection with the wrestlers. We don’t script the interviews here. People go out, they’re talking about, maybe they got bullet points and key pieces of information they’re trying to get out, but it feels like you’re hearing a real person talk, which isn’t always the way it feels with some of the competition’s interviews. I think that’s one major difference. I think our biggest strength is the quality of athletes and the charisma of our biggest stars. Some of the biggest names in wrestling are in AEW, and there’s a reason why these big free agents want to come here to AEW. It’s because this is where the best wrestle.”

The company is gearing up to produce its next and most popular pay-per-view show, AEW Double or Nothing in less than three weeks at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas marking the fifth anniversary of the show that got the ball rolling for AEW and has made them a land of opportunity for countless wrestlers in the world. Following heinous assault at the hands of The Elite that he has been selling well, we will have to wait and see if Tony Khan will return to the event to run the show.
