Adam Copeland sent shockwaves across the wrestling landscape when he jumped ship from WWE to AEW at their WrestleDream event last summer, following the end of his last WWE contract.

The Rated-R Superstar came to the land of All Elite, revealing the timeline for talks regarding his arrival, believing that he had accomplished everything in WWE and wanted to explore fresh competition and new opportunities.

Moreover, the former 11-time WWE Champion also mentioned that AEW offered him the opportunity to be full-time performer and tell compelling stories on television each week, while WWE only saw him as a special part-time attraction.

During recent interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Copeland stated that signing an extension with AEW was on the cards rather than retiring following the end of his current deal. Moreover, he also mentioned that he was thankful to perform at the highest level and did not struggle to be in his prime, unlike many of his peers who did reach that point.

“I mean, maybe. You never know, if I can keep performing at a level, but more importantly a level that I can feel proud of. I just don’t wanna get to a point where I’m really struggling and it’s like pulling teeth to get it done, I don’t want to do that. And thankfully because my career I’m at a point where I don’t have to do that. I’m doing this because I love it.”

Adam Copeland currently reigns as the defending AEW TNT Champion, with his latest successful defense coming against House of Black member, Brody King. With the future looking bright for Copeland in Tony Khan’s company, we will have to wait and see what unfolds next for The Ultimate Opportunist.
