Chris Jericho is famous in the wrestling world for his ability to reinvent himself repeatedly, most recently with his “The Learning Tree” gimmick. A TNA star has now commented on Jericho adopting a gimmick with a similar name.

At AEW Dynasty, Chris Jericho defeated Hook to become the new FTW Champion, adding another accolade to his storied career. Right after that, he officially started his ‘Learning Tree’ gimmick.

Brian Myers previously led a stable called The Learning Tree in IMPACT Wrestling during 2021-2022, and has commented on Chris Jericho using the same name for a new gimmick in AEW. Myers is now part of The System, a stable in TNA, and he holds the TNA World Tag Team Championship with Eddie Edwards. With Jericho recently adopting the name “The Learning Tree” and aligning with Big Bill in AEW, some fans noticed the similarity to Myers’ former group.

In an interview with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, Myers was asked about Jericho’s use of “The Learning Tree” and whether he had considered trademarking it. Myers stated that he wasn’t concerned about the overlap and didn’t attempt to trademark the name.

“Here‘s my thoughts on that. When that was said or whatever on television, I was on a family vacation, about as disconnected from wrestling and my phone as I’ve been in years, having a wonderful time. My timeline and mentions blew up, and I couldn’t have given a f***** s*** about it, so there’s your answer. I don’t give a s***. I never trademarked it. If Chris wants it, he can have it. We have the same f***** trademark lawyer. He can have at it. The Learning Tree in TNA Wrestling was super fun and something I thought was really growing and clicking and being a very entertaining part of the show. But ultimately, it doesn’t matter to me because The System right now is literally the biggest thing on the show, so what do I care about The Learning Tree?”

Chris Jericho has also revealed how he came up with the gimmick. Jericho is gearing up for his tag team match with Big Bill on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. As he concentrates on the upcoming bout, fans will be watching to see how the match plays out.
