This week’s edition of WWE NXT showcased in-ring performances by main roster stars, memorable segments, and the beginning of the road toward a brand new championship setting the tone for next week’s episode.

Following a series of sessions and drills as part of the NXT Combine, General Manager Ava selected the top 12 women who will compete in qualifying matches with 6 of them moving on to NXT Battleground in a ladder match to crown the first-ever NXT Women’s North American Champion.

The first two qualifying matches will see the top-ranking star in the Combine, Sol Ruca squaring off against Izzi Dame and the Pitbull of WWE, Ivy Nile going one-on-one against the dominant Lash Legend.

On the men’s side, the NXT Heritage Cup will be on the line as the leader of The D’Angelo Family, Tony D’Angelo will challenge one member of the New Quarter Catch Crew. On the other hand, following an altercation outside the WWE Performance Center, Noam Dar will battle it out with the dynamic Je’Von Evans in a singles bout.
