WWE WrestleMania 40 Sunday featured Cody Rhodes dethroning Roman Reigns as the Undisputed Universal Champion and then he immediately saw a heartfelt tribute video on the subsequent episode of RAW. However, it appears Rhodes believes he wasn’t even supposed to see the tribute video in the ring during the show.

The night after Cody Rhodes completed his journey and won the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 40, he stood in the WWE Raw ring with Triple H. Triple H brought out a television and played a special video package to celebrate Cody’s victory.

During an appearance on Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, Cody shared his thoughts on the video and revealed that he thinks he wasn’t even supposed to see the tribute video in the ring during RAW.

“I don’t think I was supposed to be in the ring to see the video they made. I think what happened was, everyone saw it and thought, ‘we might as well capture him seeing it for the first time.’ It wasn’t the plan, but what a great problem to have, ‘the house is so big, we can’t do a tron, so we’re going to put this substitute teacher style TV in the aisle,’ and there I am watching it.”

Cody Rhodes was also successful in his title defense against AJ Styles at Backlash and then made it clear he wants to feud with Randy Orton, so we’ll have to wait and see if that will happen soon enough.
