Drew McIntyre has proved himself to be an inspiration for younger stars who have been released by the company in recent history. The Scottish Warrior was one among the list of released stars in 2014 himself and proved his worth with a comeback and a World Championship win multiple times since then.

While Drew McIntyre hasn’t gained a lot of title victories in WWE lately, his contract negotiation has been a topic of discussion for quite some time which finally came to a conclusion recently when he signed his contract once again with the company. However, in recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, the Scottish Warrior revealed that he deserved to be fired back in 2014.

The former World Heavyweight Champion stated that he needed to find his true self and getting fired was a great thing. 10 years later, he was proud to have the Rock announce his new contract with the company.

“I was fired in 2014 by WWE and I deserved to get fired. I needed to get fired to truly find myself, and 10 years later The Rock’s announcing that Drew McIntyre re-signed with WWE. For anyone out there who’s made it and then you get knocked down in your butt, you got to keep fighting.”

“You got to keep pushing forward. You got to leave no stone unturned. Put the work in, be accountable to the person in the mirror. You can do freaking anything. I’ve done it time and time again and this is the most recent incident of it.”

Drew McIntyre’s new contract with WWE opens a lot of new doors for him. However, with CM Punk’s feud in the cards right now, it doesn’t seem like the Scottish Warrior would like to explore any of the other opportunities right now. Ringside News will keep you updated with this story.
