The arrival of Mercedes Mone in AEW has undeniably caused a stir in the promotion’s landscape. With her established reputation in the Jacksonville-based organization, Mone was immediately positioned as a star upon her debut. However, it seems AEW was well aware that her wrestling debut would be a bit further down the line when they brought her on board.

Since her AEW debut in March, Mercedes Mone has wasted no time in making her presence felt, engaging in confrontations with the likes of Julia Hart, Skye Blue, and Willow Nightingale, solidifying her status as a significant player in the company.

During a discussion on Fightful Select’s Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp shared insights into AEW’s plans for Mone, revealing that upon learning of her signing, he was informed that she likely wouldn’t step into the ring until Double or Nothing.

“When I found out she was signed I was told she probably wouldn’t wrestle until Double or Nothing.”

The anticipation surrounding Mone’s in-ring debut reached new heights when Willow Nightingale emerged victorious over Julia Hart at the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view, capturing the TBS Championship and setting the stage for a showdown with Mone at Double or Nothing.

As the feud between Mone and Nightingale continues to unfold in the lead-up to the pay-per-view, fans eagerly await Mone’s long-awaited in-ring debut, marking a significant milestone in her AEW journey.
